Unfold is a website which gathers the best, most influential opinions and the most important public debates happening in the news at any given time. Due to major shifts in media technology and consumption habits, ever greater numbers of people – politicians, journalists, and other public figures – are able to put out their opinions through a rapidly increasing number of channels: cable news, print media, Twitter, and an increasing number of alternate, specialized forums. Unfold gives readers a convenient, unified gateway to this wide array of opinion. Our current capabilities include: • A feed of the most talked-about controversies and a ranked list of influential opinions and arguments made on the controversy, with links to the original sources for those opinions (newspapers articles, video clips, original opinion pieces, etc.). • An aggregated “public support” score. Different than a poll, this is weighted aggregate of public support for a particular idea. • Chronological feeds of opinions of a particular notable person or organization over time, or search for current or historical controversies. • Interactive features to allow – for example – our readers to weigh in on one side on another in a controversy. .
